COVER ME...s.germann

Driving through the night now

Pulling over to sleep

Waiting for the sunlight

For pleasures south of here

Theres a storm off the channel

Thats pulling crests up high

Im driving down there to meet it

To catch the morning ride

A single road through the bayside

A cup of coffee still warm
not a person miles

No one out here but me

*Im thinking that Im driving till ocean covers me

Ill paddle past the breakers till I see the darkness of the sea

With all my strength and my last might Ill make it where I need to be

Im salty and Im jaded and all I want is to be free

 Climbing over the dunes now

Watching people pass

The sand is cold to my feet

Taking bigger steps

Dont want to turn back now

Now that I found my way

Ill spend my life in the currents

And let the tide carry me

TOO FAR..s.germann

When will

You go

Too far

Tension

Builds up

Higher

Brothers

Sisters

Leave home

Fighting

Dying

For freedom

*Point your weapons far from here

Pull your soldiers far from here

We are different yes we are

But theres a war now

Terror

Destruction

Hits home

Thousands

Of soldiers

Are ready

They dont

See us

coming

Will they

Ever

Surrender

Why does it seem like we are failing

To the see the point in all this anger

Why is it we can find all the answers

To save the lives of those who are willing

TAKE A LOOK...s.germann

Before you leave

why don't you just be yourself?

Because it's time to heal

why don't you just be yourself

cus everytime you call

is everytime I learn

and everytime you fall

is everytime I burn

*Why don't you just take a look

everything will turn out right

Why don't you just be yourself

and stay here tonight

WASHINGTON...s.germann

(about a homeless saxophone player living on the streets of DC)

If I wasn't me

what would I do for sympathy?

I'm not too sure

I'll sleep a while

I walk these streets

find me some place to get some eats

life's much too short

to get a job anymore

*All these faces, staring at me

laughing at what they see

what they don't know is

I am the man of Washinton DC

I'm down below

sitting on the 59th metro

they wear their suits

got no time anymore

I feel complete

got me a saxophone and seat

play me some tunes

about my life as a king

THIS TIME...sgermann

We are building castles

More of sand and shells

this time

 Thinkin that I better

Get myself some weather

This time

 Wishin that I would be

Farther then I could be

This time

Putting it together

We are two birds of feather

This time

*And I dont know what to say

Life is crazier these days

And I wish you made some sense

So this wouldnt seem intense

And I see it in your eyes

As youre searchin for my lies

But all I got is truth

Tryin to get that through to you

We are getting nowhere

Please just dont go there

This time

Dont know why youre lookin

But you keep on pushing

This time

Dont give me no more glances

These are wasted romances

This time

 The final word is spoken

The life line has been broken

This time

CHAPTER TWO..sgermann, new as of 6 March

(for the graduating class of 2003)

4 years quickly passed right by

changing seasons, borrowed tears

dont know what the future holds

bringing in some new found fears

 writing down entire lives

knowing where to place a stamp

sending off for quick replies

finding jobs goes hand in hand

wanting so much more than this

weve worked so hard to get it right

driving far away from home

right into tomorrows light

We knew its got to come to this

Starting chapter 2 of our lives

We know well make it in the end

Waking to a new sunrise

We dont recall our first days here

Many faces crossed our paths

Moving in from room to room

Waiting for the start of class

How quick the nights have gone right by

Looking in from house to house

Stand in line for plastic cups

Walking backwards in the rain

Will we try to keep in touch

Many friends will come to pass

Memories of what we were

Pictures of this leaving class

REHOBOTH..sgermann

There's gotta be a place where I can go

To get a way from this traveled road

across the streets to a brighter place

where I can say goodbye to this college waste

go back to the older days of a finer time

the sand and shells of an ocean mind

I hope someday you'll be finding me

enjoying the high life of the north atlantic sea

*Don't think you can con me in,

to staying here with you

Don't think you can write me off

for the person you once knew

Because i'm feeling high

For once, I'm happy again

Because I'm feeling high

Rehoboth beach till the end

I left my flip-flops at the university

for a turtle neck and a novelty

I've never worn so much cologne

just to hideaway and be alone

I'd give it up for some surfboard wax

to ease my mind so I relax

just moving foward, no turning back

got my guitar, but it's you i'll lack

ISLAND TIME...sgermann

The Sun aint Risin my way

Kick on my shoes

And start this cloudy day

 Stand in line for coffee

Three and some change

Cant even get me tea

 Workin in my gray square

In some building

Too high up in the air

*And all I want to do

Is slow down next to you

I miss my ocean mind

I want to be backon island time

 Backed up on the highway

Man on the FM

Got nothing good to say

These feelings make my head ache

Dont want to drive

Dont care what exit to take

Wish I had some sunshine

With coconuts, palmtrees

Man Id be feelin fine

All I Have...sgermann

Looks like this party's over

and my friend's are all gone

looks like I have no shoulder

and all I have is time

Looks like I missed my ocean

and the sea's are all dry

looks like you have no devotion

and all I have is time

Looks like this movie's ending

and the world has gone to bed

looks like my mind's depending

and all I have is time

if i could be

what you see

then I would change you know I would

i don't want to be

I will find my way

I will try to live
